Police Log: A Purse and Laptop Allegedly Stolen from Unlocked Vehicles

The following information was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Aug. 31

11:49 a.m. – A disabled motor vehicle was reported in the area of Marrett Road and Bridge Street.

2:51 p.m. – An erratic operator was reported in the area of Waltham Street and Marrett Road.

3:26 p.m. – Trucks were reportedly driving fast on Whipple Road.

7:10 p.m. – Police responded to a report of an erratic bus in the area of Mass Ave and Pelham Road.

11:52 p.m. – A fireworks complaint came in from Lexington Ridge Drive.

Saturday, Sept. 1

7:23 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a mailbox in the roadway in the area of Grove Street and Gould Road.

1:34 p.m. – A bottle of wine was reported stolen on Bedford Street.

3:12 p.m. – Vandalism was reported on Volunteer Way.

3:36 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Cocnord Avenue

10:07 p.m. – An erratic operator was reported in the area of Woburn and Lowell streets.

Sunday, Sept. 2

8:11 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a past hit-and-run accident on Woburn Street.

1:55 p.m. – Police responded to a report of damaged mailboxes on Rangeway.

4:09 p.m. – A Revolutionary Road resident reported that, sometime overnight, a purse was stolen from an unlocked motor vehicle.  

6:57 p.m. – Police responded to a report of youths throwing rocks in the area of Route 128-95 and the Bikeway.

Monday, Sept. 3

12:31 p.m. – A Winthrop Road resident reported a laptop was stolen from an unlocked car in the driveway.

4 p.m. – Police responded to a report of possible vandalism to a door on Main Campus Drive. Upon investigation, it appeared to be accidental damage.

8:13 p.m. – A cruiser checked out a report of possible gunshots in the area of Taft and Baker avenues.
