Police Log: Alcohol at LHS, a Hawk at the Post Office and an Assault with Scissors

Friday, Jan. 18

1:14 a.m. – A noise complaint came in from Dunham Street.

9:11 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Waltham Street.

4 p.m. – The school resource officer found a Charlestown teen in possession of alcohol at Lexington High School. The teen will be summonsed for minor in possession.

5:40 p.m. – Police responded to a reported breaking-and-entering to a Robinson Road residence.

Saturday, Jan. 19

12:47 p.m. – Police were called to assist with a dispute between a car owner and repo driver on Hill Street.

2:49 p.m. – A BB was reportedly shot into a window of a Lowell Street residence. The BB was lodged between windowpanes, causing about $50 worth of damage.

8:27 p.m. – A 911 hang-up came in from Katahdin Drive.

Sunday, Jan. 20

9:06 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Lincoln Street.

2:11 p.m. – A noise complaint came in regarding construction on Whittier Road.

10:02 p.m. – Police responded to a report of larceny from a motor vehicle on Shade Street.

Monday, Jan. 21

2:06 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a truck driving in conservation land on Concord Avenue.

2:25 p.m. – $30 was reportedly stolen from a motor vehicle parked on Holton Road.

Tuesday, Jan. 22

2:26 a.m. – A parking complaint came in from Adams Street.

9:48 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Mass Ave and Wallis Court.

7:09 p.m. – The larceny of earrings was reported from Apollo Circle.

8:06 p.m. – Police responded to a report of overnight parking on Sylvia Street.

Wednesday, Jan. 23

9:42 a.m. – Police responded to a report of threats made on Hartwell Avenue.

12:59 p.m. – Police responded to a Lowell Street residence and arrested Daniel J. Guzman, 24, 11 Alden St., Chicopee, on warrants from Monson for breaking-and-entering during the daytime for a felony, from Holyoke for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and from Springfield for unlicensed operation.

4:02 p.m. – Police responded to a reported larceny of gas from a car parked on Judges Road.

7:10 p.m. – Police responded to a reported verbal domestic at the hotel on Bedford Street. Helen Paige Jellie-Leftwich, 49, who gave the address of 440 Bedford St., Lexington, was arrested on charges of assault by a dangerous weapon – scissors, three counts of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Thursday, Jan. 24

5:36 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Marrett Road and Old Mass Ave.

10:50 a.m. – Police responded to a report of an injured hawk at Mass Ave and Grant Street. Police located the hawk on the Post Office lawn, placed it in a post office box and took the bird to the Burlington Science Center.

11:54 a.m. – Police responded to a reported theft from a construction trailer on Marrett Road. Some tools were reported missing.  

12:05 p.m. – Animal control was notified of an injured fox on Glen Road.

5:27 p.m. – A Marrett Road resident reported returning home and finding her basement door broken into and $1,000 worth of jewelry missing from her daughter’s room.

8:53 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Katahdin Drive.
