Police Log: Alleged Drug Activity at Garfield Park

The following information was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Aug. 13

12:15 a.m. – A disturbance call came in reporting a loud house party on Mass Ave.

9:11 a.m. – A disabled motor vehicle was reported in the area of Mass Ave and the bikeway.

2:27 p.m. – A landscaper doing work on a new home on Anthony Road reported a heavy duty landscaping rake valued at $3,500 was stolen sometime overnight.

6:06 p.m. – A parking complaint came in regarding large moving trucks in the roadway on Concord Avenue.

Tuesday, Aug. 14

12:38 p.m. – A parking complaint came in regarding a truck in the roadway at Reed and Ash streets.

3:35 p.m. – A purple purse was reportedly found in the area of Mass Ave.

4:27 p.m. – A Lowell Street resident came into the station to report receiving disturbing/threatening emails from a family member. As a result of the investigation, police determined the family member was actually in the custody of the probation department in Utah.

5:51 p.m. – Police responded to a report of erratic operation of a motor vehicle in the area of Pleasant Street and Route 2.

7:34 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Mass Ave and Hastings Road.

9:57 p.m. – A call came in reporting a suspicious vehicle parked at with its lights off. The vehicle then reportedly left, driving with its lights off down Kimball Road. The vehicle were gone by the time police arrived, but another party told police it had met with a second vehicle for a short time before driving off, again with no lights on. Police located the vehicle on Bedford Street and, as a result of the stop, police recovered several ounces of marijuana and two Lexington teens were arrested on drug-related charges. Jason H. Bonnell, 18, of 87 Grant St., Lexington, was arrested and charged with possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute and violation of a drug-free school zone.  Dustin James Carpe, 18, of 5 Belfry Terrace, Lexington, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute, marked lanes violation and violation of a drug-free school zone.

Wednesday, Aug. 15

4:39 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Burlington Street.

11:47 a.m. – A disabled motor vehicle was reported on Marrett road.

12:28 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Bedford Street and Harrington Road.

2:08 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a verbal argument on Mass Ave.

9:07 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Plymouth Road.

Thursday, Aug. 16

12:46 a.m. – A noise complaint came in from Crest Circle.

4:39 a.m. – Suspicious persons were reported in the area of Marrett and Forbes roads.

8:28 a.m. – A disabled motor vehicle was reported in the area of Mass Ave and Waltham Street.

10:22 a.m. – A contractor reported that, sometime over the past few weeks, construction signs, a gas meter and other scrap metal were stolen from a site on Tarbell Avenue.

1:39 p.m. – A tree on Lincoln Street was reportedly vandalized with spray paint.  

6:20 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Main Campus Drive.

6:40 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Lowell Street.

9:57 p.m. – A 911 caller reported a boyfriend-girlfriend domestic on Concord Avenue. Erec David Sanders, 42, of 280 Concord Ave., was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery. Police believed Sanders had fled the area, but then later found him hiding in the attic at that location.
