Police Log: Construction Site Thefts and a Couple Arrests

The following information was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Jan. 14

10:03 a.m. – Five rings, worth an estimated $1,400, were reportedly stolen from a home on Essex Street.

3:14 p.m. – A construction foreman working on Lowell Street reported $800 worth of copper and a $650 table saw were stolen from the site.

5:12 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Woburn and Lowell streets, Nicholas Joseph Dumont, 32, of 10 Woodbury Drive, Nashua, NH, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle without his license and failure to obey traffic signs.

5:34 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Grant Street and Mass Ave.

Tuesday, Jan. 15

7:13 a.m. – Police responded to a report of about $1,000 worth of copper piping stolen from a construction site on Peachtree Road.

8:51 a.m. – Officers responded to a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Concord Avenue and Spring Street.

1:12 p.m. – Police responded to a possible domestic on Davis Road.

2:45 p.m. – Police responded to a reported possible driveway scam on Hillside Terrace and advised the resident it was a civil matter.

5:17 pm. – An Arcola Street resident reported checks stolen. It’s under investigation.

7:07 p.m. – Offices investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Winchester Drive and Russell Road.

Wednesday, Jan. 16

5:55 a.m. – A parking complaint came in from the area of Mass and Hillside avenues.

7:59 a.m. – Police responded to a report of an object in the roadway at Marrett Road and Route 128/95.

8:24 a.m. – A chop saw, compressor, cordless drill and hand saw were reportedly stolen from a Lowell Street construction site.

9:29 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident at Marrett Road and Route 128/95.

10:35 a.m. – About 15 feet of copper pipe and fittings, with an estimated value of $300, were reportedly stolen from a house under construction on Woodcliffe Road.

10:38 a.m. – A shed was reportedly vandalized on Peacock Farm Road. Doors removed and damaged. It’s in the backyard.

1:59 p.m. – Police responded to a reported larceny from a motor vehicle on Pelham Road.

3:41 p.m. – Police responded to a reported civil dispute over snow plowing in which a resident reported plowing contractor had hit road reflectors she put along the end of her driveway.

9:04 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle parked in a lot on Lowell Street.

11:37 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Bedford and Hill streets, Allen Blair Gallant, 46, of 30 Oxbow Road, Bedford, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, his third offense.

Thursday, Jan. 17

8:27 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Bow Street.

9:10 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Concord Avenue and the Route 2 ramps.

10:11 a.m. – A Ballard Terrace resident reported two suspicious men rang her doorbell and banged on the doo “for inordinate amount of time.” Police located two Jehovah’s Witnesses in the area and determined they were the men involved.

6:59 p.m. – A wallet was reported lost from Bedford Street.

9:38 p.m. – Police responded to Bedford Street or a reported domestic dispute.

10:30 p.m. – Latisha S. Linen, 21, of 54 Stockton St., Dorchester, was arrested on a Braintree warrant for possession of a Class B substance and trespassing.
