Police Log: Student Arrested After Alleged Classroom Assault

The following information from May 7 to May 10 was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest not indicate a conviction.

Monday, May 7

1:57 p.m. – Police responded to a reported attempted breaking and entering on Essex Street.

5:36 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Mass Ave and Paul Revere Road.

10:33 p.m. – A suspicious motor vehicle was reported on Farm Road.

Tuesday, May 8

8:03 a.m. – A suspicious motor vehicle was reported in the area of Wingate Road and Leeland.

11:20 a.m. – While patrolling , the animal control officer found a sign pried off the post and damaged.

6:34 p.m. – Police responded to a reported disturbance caused by a boyfriend-girlfriend dispute on Main Campus Drive.

Wednesday, May 9

9:17 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Bedford Street, Yessica Rodriguez-Brash, 21, of 28 Slocum Road, Lexington, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker and failure to stop for police. According to the police report, the driver split while the officer attempted to write the summons. The vehicle was then tracked down again and the driver was arrested.

2:01 p.m. – Police responded to a report of vandalism to a mailbox on Dewey Road.

6:11 p.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Mass Ave and Marrett Road.

Thursday, May 10

7:01 a.m. – Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident in the area of Mass Ave and Maple Street.

7:46 a.m. – A DPW employee reported there was a man driving around the area of Grove and Eldred streets taking a washing machine from trash. Police located the man, a Somerville resident, on North Hancock and informed him not to do any more curbside pickup.

7:54 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Bedford and Eldred streets.

8:34 a.m. – Police responded to Washington Street for a reported civil dispute among neighbors.

11:47 a.m. – A few copper downspouts were reportedly stolen from Main Campus Drive.  

11:55 a.m. – A 16-year-old student was arrested and charged with assault and battery. According to the incident report, the Littleton resident allegedly struck her boyfriend repeatedly in front of a classroom of students after becoming enraged over a text message.  

6:31 p.m. – A parking complaint came in regarding a vehicle parked on the sidewalk on Adams Street.

10:11 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Katahdin Drive.
