Police Log: Swimming Hole Hijinks and Turtle Crossings

The following information from July 13 to July 15 was provided by the Lexington Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction

Friday, July 13

12:17 a.m. – Police responded to a report of kids at the , but found nothing on arrival.

6:23 a.m. – A noise complaint came in from the area of Simonds and Blake Roads.

8:41 a.m. – A Ledgelawn Avenue resident reported finding a suspicious item, which turned out to be a child’s backpack.

11:20 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported three-car collision on Massachusetts Avenue.

11:40 a.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic on Kitson Park Drive.

12:09 p.m. – Police responded to Avon Street and assisted the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office on the arrest and courtesy booking of a Waltham man. Robert J. Fleming, 20, 60A Lowell St., Waltham, was arrested on five warrants.

4:47 p.m. – Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident on School Street.

6:53 p.m. – Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident in the area of Spring Street and Marrett Road.

11:07 p.m. – A noise complaint came in reporting a large party in the area of Somerset Road.

Saturday, July 14

10:01 a.m. – A cruiser checked out a report of a disoriented elderly female in the area of East Street.

11:06 a.m. – Sometime during the night, a person or persons allegedly climbed the fence around the on Partridge Street and threw chairs and tables into the pool and smashed some beer bottles. There was also alleged damage to the fence. The matter is under investigation.  

1:06 p.m. – A Concord Avenue resident reported that, sometime overnight, his mailbox was smashed, apparently by some kind of stick or bat.

4:25 p.m. – A Cooke Road resident reported a fraudulent Best Buy credit card was opened in her name and used in Hyannis. 

11:41 p.m. – Cambridge Police relayed a report of a missing student from Pelham Academy.

Sunday, July 15

12:01 a.m. – Police responded to a report of loud music on the Minuteman Bikeway and found a group of between 20 and 25 youths from Somerville, who were quieted and sent on their way.

2:07 a.m. – Police responded to Concord Avenue for a report of a loud party and took one 20-year-old Dorchester man into protective custody.

3 p.m. – A large turtle was reportedly spotted in the road in the area of Maple Street and Solomon Pierce Road, but officers reported it was gone on arrival.

4:31 p.m. – Police responded to a report of people drinking at . According to police, the individuals were unaware of the swimming hole’s rules about drinking.
