Police Log: Unlicensed Drivers Arrested and Brothers Butt Heads

Lexington police incidents from May 20 to May 22.

Friday, May 20
1:54 a.m. – A noise complaint came in from Massachusetts Avenue.
10:36 a.m. – An officer used a firearm to put down a skunk.
11:37 a.m. – A Jamaica Plains man was arrested on multiple charges after a minor motor vehicle accident on Mass Ave. and Marrett Road. Dushani A. Genas, 33, of 163 Heath St., Jamaica Plain, was arrested on a warrant out of Orange for operating without a license and was subsequently cited for operating without a license and failure to use care while turning.
6:53 p.m. – A California man was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly making an illegal turn into a hotel parking lot on Bedford Street and backing out into traffic after spotting a cruiser in the lot. Cory I. Curtis, 34, of 2662 West Dawn View Drive, Rialto, was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, operating a vehicle negligently to endanger and certain turns prohibited.
7:15 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a lawn damaged on Lawrence Lane.
11:18 p.m. – A motor vehicle stop on Bedford Street by Route 128 resulted in the arrest of a Woburn man on a Lexington warrant. Steven L. Rumbolt, 24, of 18 Monroe St., Woburn, was subsequently charged with operating a motor vehicle after his license was suspended, operating with revoked registration, operating an ninsured motor vehicle and operating without an inspection sticker.
11:47 p.m. – A Malden man was taken into protective custody after police responded to Bedford Street for a reported domestic dispute. Accordingto a police report, a 22-year-old Malden man was thrown out of a friend’s car after fighting with his girlfriend. The man, who was reportedly intoxicated, was collected from police custody by a responsible and sober adult.

Saturday, May 21
2:48 a.m. – A domestic dispute was reported on Bedford Street.
11:12 a.m. – Police responded to a reported road rage incident on Solomon Pierce Road.
4:23 p.m. – Police received a call reporting a motor vehicle broken into on Mass Ave and Edison Way.
11:02 and 11:41 p.m. – Officers responded to Cliffe and Folter avenues for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Initially, a neighborhood resident reported he thought people were drinking inside the car in front of his. The second call came from the same man, who wanted to know why police did not question the skateboarders in the area. Police reportedly found no issues, just some sober kids skateboarding in the area.

Sunday, May 22
12:36 p.m. – A motor vehicle accident was reported at Woburn Street and Mass Ave.
4:08 p.m. – A motor vehicle accident was reported at Bedford and Shirley streets.
7:43 p.m. – A Washington Street resident reported his name and information were used to obtain a loan; his bank is investigating.
9:48 p.m. – Offices responded to a disturbance on Grove Street involving two brothers allegedly arguing in the street and reportedly breaking a car window. Police reports say the brothers—neither of whom live at the corresponding address—engaged in a conversation that escalated, but a female at the scene had to be transported to the hospital with low blood sugar before the responding officers could get to the bottom of the situation.
