Police Log: Reports of Vandalism and the Opposite of Brotherly Love

Friday, Sept. 21
12:08 a.m. – A suspicious motor vehicle was reported on Mass Ave.
6:58 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Katahdin Drive.

8:15 a.m. – A parking complaint came in regarding construction equipment parked in the area of Stedman and Marrett roads.
10:51 a.m. – An employee at a Bedford Street business reported two small dents to the hood of the car occurred while parked there between 4 and 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, although it’s unknown exactly where the damage occurred.

1:11 p.m. – A suspicious motor vehicle was reported at Greeley Village.
3:21 p.m. – Police received a report of a basketball hoop and pole left in the parking lot behind Mal’s on Mass Ave.
3:34 p.m. – Police responded to a report alleging that, sometime between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., someone keyed both doors on the driver’s side of a vehicle parked in the municipal lot off Edison Way.
7:35 p.m. – State Police relayed a report they received a 911 hang-up in which the only word said was “Help.” LPD responded to the scene to find an alleged domestic altercation between two brothers. As a result of their investigation, officers arrested Bryan C. Vernazza, 35, of 6 April Lane, Lexington, was arrested and charged with assault by dangerous weapon (a kitchen knife) and domestic assault and battery.
Saturday, Sept. 22
12:24 a.m. – Hazardous operation of a motor vehicle was reported on Bartlett Avenue.
10:55 a.m. – Police were called to assist with a situation involving vendors without a permit in the area of Lincoln Street and Hastings Road.
11:31 a.m. – A minor motor vehicle accident was reported on Mass Ave.
7:27 p.m. – A parking complaint came in regarding a vehicle parked too closely to an intersection at Cedar Street.
8:26 p.m. – A parking complaint came in regarding cars parked for a party creating a hazard on Wood Street.
9:49 p.m. – A North Street resident reported their mailbox was smashed about 10 minutes earlier.
11:33 p.m. – A cruiser checked out a report of a group of youths in the roadway on Meriam Street.
Sunday, Sept. 23
1:52 a.m. – A cruiser checked out a business on Lowell Street.
10:36 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a wire down in the area of Grant Street and the Minuteman Bikeway.
4:10 p.m. – A past breaking-and-entering was reported on Washington Street.
6:26 a.m. – A house alarm activated on Hancock Street.
