Police Logs: Mail Boxes Bowled Over, Copper Power Cables Cut and Stolen

Monday, Oct. 8

7:06 a.m. – A Locke Lane resident reported vandalism to a mailbox.

7:22 a.m. – Another report of a vandalized mailbox came in from Locke Lane.

9:04 a.m. – Police responded to Rumford Road for a reported civil dispute over tree removal.

9:38 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a mailbox vandalized on Fairlawn Lane.

10:11 a.m. – A Winchester Drive resident reported a mailbox was broken.

12:24 p.m. – Police responded to a report that, over the past few weeks, 13 different copper power cables were cut along Hartwell Avenue, at a value of $800 to $1,000 per unit. It’s under investigation.

6:55 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Mass Ave.

8:51 p.m. – Police responded to a reported domestic argument on Arcola Street.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

6:49 a.m. – A noise complaint came in regarding construction on Laconia Street.

12:01 p.m. – Police responded to a report of leaves being blown across the roadway on Waltham Street.

4:19 a.m. – Police were notified about reported overnight parking on Mass Ave.

11:35 p.m. – An school alarm activation came in from Middleby Road.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

4:15 a.m. – A disabled motor vehicle was reported on Lowell Street.

7:25 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Oak Street.

8:41 a.m. – A breaking-and-entering to a motor vehicle was reported on Mass Ave.

8:53 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Marrett Road and Old Mass Ave.

10:09 a.m. – A resident reported a possible drug deal on Waltham Street.

10:42 a.m. – A mailbox was reportedly smashed and dented on Hickory Street.

11:44 a.m. – Police responded to a report of nails in the roadway in the area of Watertown Street and Route 2.

10:04 p.m. – A cruiser checked on a Bedford Street business at closing.

Thursday, Oct. 11

9:18 a.m. – Police responded to a reported mother-son domestic dispute on Larchmont Lane.

11:27 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Reed and Bedford streets.

5:04 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Marrett Road and Route 128-95. Brian C. Grattan, 34, of 92 Laurie Ave., West Roxbury, was arrested and charged with operating after his license was suspended.
