Possibly Rabid Raccoon Killed by Police Near Arlington Center Saturday

In late April, the town confirmed another raccoon, also killed by police, had rabies.

Police killed a possibly rabid raccoon with a varmint gun on Maple Street near Arlington Center Saturday morning.

The raccoon was lying on the sidewalk and appeared to be “rabid or extremely sick,” according to the police report.

In late April, a raccoon, which bit two children and an adult in Arlington’s Morningside neighborhood, tested positive for rabies after it was killed, according to the town.
