Residents Impacted by Lexington Ridge Drive Sprinkler Break

An American Red Cross representative said the group initially responded but was no longer required.

According to American Red Cross of Massachusetts, a sprinkler break in Lexington displaced several residents late Friday night.

One scanner report indicated that a sprinkler broke inside the ceiling of the Avalon apartments on Lexington Ridge Drive. As a result, residents in the front half of one of the buildings were evacuated and brought to a common building.

Red Cross Communications Manager Ashley Studley said that after 10 p.m. on Friday night, volunteers were called to the scene where 17 adults and nine children were impacted.

However, Studley followed up around 11 p.m. in saying that the Red Cross was not required as the building management company was handling the needs of the residents.
