Grove Street Work Starts Monday

Roadway improvements are a part of new Estabrook School project.

Grove Street roadway improvements are slated to begin next Monday, July 8, according to a notice from the town’s Engineering Division.

Though the road will not be fully closed, but residents are encouraged to expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and only one lane will be passable during that time.

“Work includes lowering the profile of Grove Street to improve vehicle site distance,” the notice says, adding, “National Grid will also be working in the area lowering the gas main.”

The work is part of the Estabrook School building project, and is expected to continue through the summer.

Road access improvements rolled into the Estabrook School project aim to smooth out sight lines around the “T-intersection” at the elementary school’s driveway on Grove Street and adding a sidewalk along the northerly side of Robinson Road.
