Noam Chomsky to Join Kaufman's Open House Tonight, Oct. 15
The legacy of Occupy Wall Street will be up for discussion tonightk when state Rep. Jay Kaufman, D-Lexington, will host a 'Conversation with Noam Chomsky' as part of his Open House series at Lexington Depot.
State Rep. Jay Kaufman’s Open House is already an award-winning public policy forum, but the Lexington Democrat is kicking it up another notch with his next guest.
Tonight, Oct. 15, Noam Chomsky, the acclaimed scholar and Lexington resident, will join Kaufman for a special edition of the forum to be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lexington Depot.

According to his website, Kaufman has asked Chomsky to “reflect on the lessons and legacy of Occupy Wall Street and on the state of politics and statecraft on Capitol Hill and Beacon Hill.”
Around this time last year, Chomsky addressed a packed house at Lexington High School’s auditorium during a Lexington Community Education program while touring to support the paperback release of his 1999 book, "Profit Over People: Neo-Liberalism and Global Order.”

Kaufman promoted this special edition of Open House with a tweet last week, inviting followers to a “Conversation with Noam Chomsky.” The posting on his website encourages Open House attendees to bring their questions to “questions what is sure to be an interesting and engaging conversation with one of the great thinkers of today.”
