The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is holding a public information meeting for the Route 2/I-95 Bridge Replacement Project on Wednesday, June 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Jonas Clarke Middle School in Lexington.

As posted on MassDOT's blog, the meeting will provide details on the Route 2/I-95 Bridge Replacement design/build project, including traffic management plans and construction schedule. MassDOT staff and project contractor representatives will answer questions and gather public comments.

MassDOT is replacing the Route 2 east and westbound bridges over I-95. The project will address the bridges’ current structural deficiencies, upgrade capacity, improve safety, protect the environment and reduce annual maintenance costs. The project also includes new paving, guardrails and median upgrades on I-95 in the area.

The contractor begins preliminary work in late June to prepare for construction, including clearing trees and shrubbery, digging test pits, surveying, and erosion control. Major construction is expected to begin in late July.
