When is the Deadline to Register to Vote in Town Election?

Find out when to register to participate in Lexington's town election.

It is time to register to vote in the March 3 annual town election. 

According to the Board of Registrars, any citizen who will be 18 years of age on or before March 3 has until Tuesday, Feb. 11 to register to vote in the town election. Residents can register in the Town Clerk's office, which will be open late, until 8 p.m. on Feb. 11. 

Can't make it to the Town Office Building? Mail-in voter registration affidavit forms are available at the Town Clerk’s Office and online here. Forms are also available from other City or Town Clerk offices.  Registrations filed out-of-town will be forwarded to Lexington.

All newly registered voters submitting mail-in voter registrations must submit a photocopy of personal identification, including such identification as driver’s license, utility bill, etc., before voting at the next election.  Voter registration forms also require the voter to provide his/her driver license number or last four digits of his/her social security number.

Voter Registration forms postmarked on or before the respective deadline, and Registry of Motor Vehicle registrations completed on or before the respective deadline, will be accepted for voting in the upcoming election, a notice from the Board of Registrars states.

Residents already registered to vote in Lexington need not register again for any election.

Registered voters who have recently moved within Lexington, who wish to confirm political party in which registered, or who have not responded to the annual town census, should contact the Town Clerk’s office at 781-862-0500 ext 270 or townclerk@lexingtonma.gov to verify registration status.
