Welcome to Modernity: Jews in the Public Sphere

Experience a Taste of Me'ah at Temple Emunah in Lexington on Sunday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m.

Professor Jacob Meskin, Academic Director of Hebrew College’s Me’ah program, will present a free public lecture and discussion on a particularly interesting moment in the history of modern Jewry: the entrance of Jews into the public life of the European nation-state. Dr. Meskin will supply copies of texts in translation; the presentation is open to all and requires no background.

Me’ah, Hebrew for 100, is an adult learning program that features 100 hours of study over two years. Offered by Hebrew College and the Combined Jewish Philanthropies, it is designed for busy adults who are interested in the narrative history of the Jewish people.
