Lexington Schools Closing Early Thursday

The coming snow means students will be dismissed early.

Lexington elementary and middle school students will be leaving class early on Thursday due to the weather. 

"Due to the forecasted timing of the upcoming storm, the elementary and middle schools will be open for a half day on Thursday, January 2," a notice on the school district's web site states

High School students will remain home as previously scheduled and parent conferences from 1 to 7 p.m. will be canceled, the note adds. Information about a possible rescheduling of parent conferences will be posted on the school web site.

Closing times: 

Elementary schools will be released at 12:15 pm

The two middle schools will be released at 11:45 am

There is no school for Boston Metco students.

There will be no elementary extended day program or afterschool activities, the notice states. School cancellation notices will be delivered by Lexington Public Schools’ parent notification solution, Code-ED, by telephone calls, text messages, and emails to parents and guardians of LPS students. Cancellation notices will also be updated on this website.
