Information as Mosquito Repellent

Bugged by mosquitoes? Wary of West Nile? A Board of Health info session could help with that.

With mosquitoes still making news and West Nile causing concern, the Lexington Board of Health has sponsored a series of seminars providing information about diseases carried by mosquitoes and how to prevent bites.

One such meeting will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Aug. 8 at Greeley Village. 

Catch basins around town are being treated this week, to curb the increase of the Culex mosquito population. That's the mosquito most commonly tied to the spread of West Nile. As of Aug. 6, there had been 11 reported mosquito infections in Middlesex County this year, according to the United States Geological Survey
