Monday Essentials: Craft Sale for Charity, Introduction to Mystery Writing Class

Five things to know about this upcoming week.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Sunny but not hot

Looks like a pretty nice week in store for the area. According to the National Weather Service after a chance of showers on Monday we should have mostly sunny skies throughout the week. Temperatures will start in the low 60s but rise to the mid 70s by the end of the week.

2) Crafts and Food for Charity

There will be a charity event at the Lexington Farmers Market on Tuesday featuring crafts from local craftspeople. Foods, items and activities donated by Farmers' Market vendors will also be auctioned, with the proceeds donated to charity.

3) Pond Exploration at Parker Meadow for Kids

The walk at Parker Meadows will take place on Thursday form 2 to 3 p.m. This walk is geared for children in grades K – 5 accompanied by an adult. Join Fran Ludwig for a prowl around Parker Meadow to look for bugs, tadpoles, frogs, snails, and fish. We’ll dip a net into the water to see what kinds of critters are wriggling around below the surface.

4) Mystery and Suspense Writing

Lexington High School's Community Education program is hosting a three-part Introduction to Mystery and Suspense Writing starting on Tuesday. The classes will be led by Andrew McAleer. Click here for more information

5) History of Back

Lexington High School's Community Education program is also starting an 11-session class on the history and music of Bach starting on Wednesday. The class will be led by Richard Knisely, former host of Classical Performances and several other programs on WGBH radio for 25 years. Click here for more information
