Monday Essentials: Drop In at New Ed Center, LHS Players' 'Much Ado About Nothing"

Five things to know about the week ahead.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Cool days and cold nights 

Looks like a mixed-bag of weather this week. According to the National Weather Service we can expect rain Monday morning followed by sunny skies. It will be a mix of sun and clouds through the week with temperatures starting in the low 40s on Tuesday and rising to high 40s by Friday. Monday will be warmer with temperatures in the 60s. Overnight temperatures this week will mostly be in the high 20s. 

2) Public meetings 

The Board of Selectmen is meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Town Office Building, Selectmen's Meeting Room. The Conservation Commission is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Town Office Building, Parker Room. The School Committee is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Jonas Clarke Middle School. 3) Drop in at Empow 

The new educational center Empow Studios holds drop-in sessions for children every Tuesday starting at 10:30 a.m. Explore, tinker, free build, design, and play at Empow Studios Drop-In sessions. Try out Snap circuits, mix digital music tracks, make a mini-movie, free build with our specialty LEGOS, have fun with crafts, make digital art, catch up on your homework or play games with friends. 4) "Much Ado About Nothing" 

The Lexington High School Players are presenting William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the LHS auditorium. The play explores love, loyalty, deception, and gender equality. Click here for more information

5) Craft beer tasting on Thursday 

Every Thursday night, Berman's Wine and Spirits hosts a craft beer tasting led by beer manager, Jay. Each week he picks a few of his favorite beers-- new, old, and classic-- and shares them with you. Stop by between 5 and 7 p.m. to sample some craft beers. Free and open to the public (with proper ID).
