Monday Essentials: Lexington Symphony Holiday Pops, Warmer Weather

Five things to know about the week ahead.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Warmer than last week 

Looks like a nicer week than what we've had recently. After a chance of rain of Monday and Tuesday the rest of the week is expected to be sunny, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will mostly be in the mid-40s. 

2) Public meetings 

The Board of Selectmen is meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Town Office Building, Selectmen Meeting Room. The Conservation Commission is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Town Office Building, Parker Room. Click here to see a full list of public meetings

3) Arts and Crafts Marketplace 

The Lexington Arts and Crafts Society Annual Holiday Marketplace will begin on December 4 and run through December 24 at the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society, 130 Waltham Street. There will be a wide variety of art prints, ornaments and crafts for sale. Click here for more information

4) Lexington Symphony Presents Holiday Pops 

The Lexington Symphony will celebrate the holiday season with two special concerts this Friday. Families with children of all ages can join in the fun at 4 p.m. for a 45 minute Holiday Pops concert that will include a visit from Santa. The Evening concert at 8 p.m. (90 minutes) offers a festive atmosphere, sing-alongs with seasonal music, and appearances by The Master Singers, Lexington Pops Chorus, and Lexington High School Madrigals.

5) Winter all-night parking ban in effect 

According to a notice on the City of Lexington's web site, the winter all-night parking bag will run from December 1 to April 1. During the ban, vehicles can not be parked or unattended upon a street between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Violators can be subject to a fine of up to $20 per offense and cars may be towed if needed for plowing.
