Monday Essentials: More Snow Possible, Community Farm Info Meeting

Five things to know about the week ahead.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) More snow possible, high temps at week's end

Looks like we may get some more snow but some of it may melt away at the end of the week. According to the National Weather Service we can expect temps in the low 20s on Monday and an 80 percent chance of snow on Tuesday. The temperatures will be in the low 30s through most of the week but will be around 45 degrees on Friday.

2) Public meetings

The Board of Selectmen is meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Town Office Building, Selectmen's Meeting Room. The Conservation Commission is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Town Office Building, Parker Room (G-15). The Historical Commission is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Cary Memorial Building- Ellen Stone Room. Click here for a full list of public meetings.

3) Your Community Garden

LexFarm will be holding two public events to introduce the community to the plans for the Lexington Community Farm, opening this Spring. One of the meetings will be this Monday at 7 p.m. in the  Auditorium, Brookhaven at Lexington, 1010 Waltham Street.

4) Holiday Animation Workshop

Empow Studios, 1776 Massachusetts Ave Lexington, is holding a stop-animation class on Tuesday at 4 p.m for children in grades 2 to 6. "Kids will have a great time learning the principles of stop-motion animation while working in pairs to make their own movie, all with the help of our expert Teachers," the event post states. "We provide all the equipment, props and expertise, so students just need to bring their imagination and creativity. Final movie files will be available to download so students can share with family and friends."

5)  Nutcracker

The New England Movement Arts studio, located at 123 Muller Road, Burlington, is holding four performances of The Nutcracker starting on Friday and continuing through the weekend. Click here for more information.
