Monday Essentials: School Committee, a Hospice Chorus and Free Museum Admission

Here's a quick look at what you need to know for the week ahead in Lexington.

1. School Committee To Look at Roles and ResponsibilitiesSchool is still out for the summer, but that doesn't mean a two-month vacation for the School Committee. It will meet at 5 p.m. this Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the School Administration Building and the only item on the agenda is "School Committee and Superintendent Roles and Responsibilities." 

2. Hospice Chorus Exploratory MeetingAt 6:30 p.m. this Monday, Aug. 12, at the Town Office Building, there will be an informational meeting about a new hospice chorus starting up in the Lexington area. Hospice choruses, according to the event announcement, sing in small groups for those nearing the end of

3. Planning Board Public Hearing
At 7:30 p.m. this Wednesday, Aug. 14 at the Town Office Building the Planning Board will hold a public hearing on a plan for a definitive subdivision at 137-139 Shade Street. Get the details here

4. Author Event at The Elephant's TrunkThis Thursday, Aug. 15, Annette LeBlanc Cate, author of "Look Up" and 'The Magic Bunny" will drop by the Elephant's Trunk Children's Bookshop from 2 to 4 p.m. sign discuss her books. 

5. Free Fun Friday at the Concord MuseumOK, so this one's a little bit out of town, but the free admission probably offsets the drive. As part of its annual Free Fun Fridays summer program, the Highland Street Foundation will be offering free admission to the Concord Museum this Friday, August 16. Get the details here.
