Monday Essentials: Tips for Picky Eaters, Bird Walk at Dunback Meadow

Five things to know about the week ahead.

Welcome to Monday Essentials, our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Sunny with Autumn temps 

Looks like a nice fall week ahead. According to the National Weather Service we can expect mostly sunny skies through the entire week. Temperatures will start in the low 60s early in the week and raise to the low 70s by the weekend. 

2) Public meeting 

The Lexington Board of Selectmen is meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Town Office Building, Selectmen Meeting Room. Click here for the agenda

3) Turning Picky Eaters into Power Eaters

Youville Assisted Living is holding a program - "LexFUN! Seminar: Turning Picky Eaters into Power Eaters: Tips and Tricks for Adding Variety and Good Nutrition to Your Family's Diet" at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Get tips on getting your kids to eat healthy meals. 

4) Bird Walk in Dunback Meadow

Calling all bird watchers. There will be a bird walk at Dunback Meadow starting at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. There is the possibility of viewing warblers, vireos, hawks, flycatchers and sparrows that are not usually at Dunback Meadow during the summer months. Meet at the entrance on Allen St. where parking is available.

5) Solar Installation RFP Information Session

On behalf of the Board of Selectmen, the Lexington Solar Taskforce will be holding an information session to discuss options for municipal solar facilities. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the Margery Milne Battin Hall, Cary Memorial Building.
