Pokémon Tournament to be Held in Lexington

Are you, or do you know, a Pokémon fan? Come show you talents in a fun competition. 

Pokémon Trading Card Game players, their supporters, and Pokémon fans from Lexington and surrounding areas are invited to attend the 2013 Pokémon City Championships on Sunday, December 15, according to a release. The tournament will run from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Hit & Run Sports and Games, 8 Camilla Place. Entry is free. 

Players from three age divisions will compete to earn Championship Points that count toward a potential invitation to compete at the 2014 Pokémon World Championships in Washington, D.C. next summer.

Players of all ages and skill levels in good standing are encouraged to participate in the open, family-friendly event that serves as a great opportunity for new players to compete in premiere events for the first time.

More than one hundred Pokémon City Championships will take place throughout North America every weekend through January 6, 2014 along with additional week-day event dates. Visit www.pokemon.com/play to learn more about tournament rules, regulations, and prizes as well as dates and locations for upcoming City Championships and how to become involved in future premier events.
