Resolution Run to Kick Cancer

Get some exercise to meet you're New Year's resolution and help raise funds for cancer research. 

The 5th Annual Resolution Run to Kick Cancer will be kicking off the New Year on Saturday, Jan. 4 starting at 11 a.m. at the Lexington High School Field House, the event post states.    

All proceeds from the event will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit.

"Think winter running is hard? Try battling cancer” is the Resolution Run to Kick Cancer’s motto and last year over 950 runners and walkers took up the cause, the event post states. 
   
This year’s event is welcoming several school teams, running groups, corporate, family and friend-based teams. The Resolution Run to Kick Cancer will also be having an EXPO beginning at 9:00 am in the Lexington High School Field House.  There will be several cancer related exhibits, clothing and shoe vendors, and sampling including

  • Athleta
  • b Positive Project
  • Core Power
  • Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation
  • Greater Boston Running Company
  • Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (beneficiary)
  • Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (beneficiary)
  • Sustainable Lexington
  • Team In Training
  • Tufts Medical Center Floating Hospital for Children’s Hematology Oncology Unit (beneficiary)
  • VitaminWater
  • YouScience

Included in the EXPO is an on site bone marrow drive sponsored by Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation.   Volunteers will be swabbing cheeks to see if participants match for cancer patients in need. In 2013 a match was found.
