Weekend Agenda: Museum Tours and a Corn and Tomato Festival

A few local events to keep in mind as you fill in your weekend planner.

The weekend has arrived, but you’ve got no idea what you’re going to do? Patch is coming to the rescue with your best bets for the done-work-outta-here time.

Check out our picks for activities you won’t want to miss this weekend: 

1. Free Fun Fridays at the Concord Museum 
Where/When: Concord Museum, 200 Lexington Road, Concord; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16  
Why Go: For the chance to see artifacts from American History, or hear about Henry David Thoreau and Climate Change -- free of charge, thanks to the Highland Street Foundation’s Free Fun Fridays program. 
Pricing: Free 

2. Parents Night Out
Where/When: Boston Sports Club, 475 Bedford St., Lexington; 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 
Why Go: BSC Lexington will keep the kids occupied with a Carnival Party while parents get to enjoy a little "me time." Children ages 3 to 12 can enjoy will stay active and entertained with a full schedule of fitness activities, crafts and games.
Pricing: $20 for members, $25 for non-members 

3. Corn and Tomato Festival 
Where/When: Verrill Farm, 11 Wheeler Road, Concord; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17 
Why Go: To "celebrate summer's favorite local crops" with tastings, music and more. 
Pricing: $8.50 for adults, $4.50 for kids under 10 (cost for tastings)
