To Break Gridlock, Brownsberger Will Refuse Party Line Promises

If elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, I will take a positive approach in order to help break the gridlock in Congress. Many in Washington arrive with their hands tied, unwilling to move from their party’s position, which results in short-term policymaking and prevents real progress. In contrast, I will contribute to moving legislation forward by not making blanket promises never to compromise.

As a member of Congress, instead of making party-line promises that I may not be able to keep, I pledge to look at all sides of each issue, to take the time to become informed before making up my mind, and to listen to my constituents. I will remain open to the possibility of changing my mind if new information leads me to rethink a position I have taken, and will always devote all my efforts to making the best judgments I can on behalf of my constituents and our country.

At http://www.willbrownsbergerforcongress.com/forums/ , I maintain an active discussion board on the issues that matter most to my constituents, such as the economy, education and climate change. By engaging in debate on the issues directly, and remaining accessible by cell phone and email, I will ensure that I have examined and addressed all sides of an issue before taking a position. If elected, I will bring to Congress this reasoned, balanced approach to making progress, going against my party when necessary in order to break partisan gridlock.
