I think it was Wilson Farm that sold eggs door to door and our house on Crescent Hill Ave which runs thru Arlington and Lexington was one of their stops. The years were the late 40's after the WWII was over. Their was more gas to go around then

Wilson Farms on Pleasant Street has been "growing since 1884." A local staple, this is not your average grocery store. While small when compared to other grocery stores, Wilson Farm offers a very diverse array of products. What's more impressive is how it takes local to a new level. It's one thing to have an on-site bakery, but how many grocery stores have a florist department stocked with beautiful plants and flowers grown in its own greenhouse? How many stock-eggs are hatched in its own chicken coop?It is also very family-friendly, offering children farm tours and family fun events.

A gem. Loved it when I was a kid, still love it. If only it weren't so crowded and full of Lexingtonians, who as you know, are each the most important person they know. When I could hit it on off hours, I'd go. When the crowds gathered, sadly, it wasn't worth the cramped quarters and annoying crowds. The produce and the staff are top notch, however. Can't fault the store for the town folk being brats. Wish we had something like it where I live now. Pretty special place.
