- Mark J. Corr began his career in Lexington in 1983.
- He was promoted to sergeant in 1988, to lieutenant in 1994 and to lieutenant detective in 2001.
- In 2005, then-acting Town Manager Linda Vine appointed him as captain under Chief Christopher Casey.
- His brother, Steven, was also a member of the force from 1970 to 2003, retiring as captain.
- A resident of Lexington, Corr and his wife Amy, have two sons.
- Capt. Mark Corr is not the first in his family to lead the Lexington Police Department. His father served as the chief of police from 1965 to 1982.
