Prosecutors allege Stephen Doran had more than 400 grams of meth sent to the Jamaica Plan school where he was working as a tutor.
A former state Representative and Town Meeting member from Lexington is facing drug charge in a scene like something out of a TV show. According to the Suffolk District Attorney’s office, Stephen W. Doran was arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on Wednesday, May 22, following his arrest the previous day on methamphetamine trafficking charges. Prosecutors allege Doran, a former Town Meeting member and state Rep from Lexington, had more than 400 grams of “a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine” delivered to the school, where he was working as a tutor. Doran was held on $10,000 bail after his arraignment Wednesday, where he was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and violating the state’s drug laws in a school zone…

Allege he sold Suboxone to an undercover detective.
Scot McDevitt, 22, of Lexington, was arrested earlier this week after allegedly selling Suboxone—a controlled Class B substance—to an undercover transit officer at the Quincy Center MBTA station. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, May 21, while Transit Police were working undercover at the station, according to the Transit Police news site. In addition to the drugs McDevitt allegedly sold to the undercover officer, he was also reportedly in possession of additional Suboxone for sale and less than an ounce of marijuana, which he had stored in a cigarette box, MBTA Transit Police reported. Winds are expected to pick up to at least 30 mph in the afternoon.
The National Weather Service is warning of the potential for brush fires in the area Thursday afternoon and night. Counties across Eastern and Central Massachusetts and Rhode Island are under the fire warning. Winds are expected to pick up to at least 30 mph in the afternoon as temperatures climb into the 70s or 80s here in Lexington. The wind coupled with “low relative humidities” will cause the risk of fire, according to the NWS.

People from around the country take part in a candle-light vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial to honor the fallen including officers from Massachusetts.
More than 19,000 names of fallen law enforcement officers are etched into the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC -- and more are added every year. The keepers of the police memorial figure one law officer in the United States dies in the line of duty every 57 hours. For this year's ceremony, 321 names were added to that wall. Among them: Middlesex County Correction Officer James Callahan, Sr., who died in 1973 due to a heart attack after being assaulted by an inmate and Woburn Police Officer John P. Gibbons III, who was killed in the line of duty on May 4, 1999. Gibbons suffered a fatal heart attack after being kicked in the chest by a woman while responding to a disturbance call.
