Tae Kwon Do is a style of martial arts developed in Korea more than 1,000 years ago. Chung Do Kwan is actually the name of the first school opened in 1944 in Korea to formerly teach Tae Kwon Do. The first Chung Do Kwan school in the U.S. opened in 1967 in Washington DC. The Chung Do Kwan studio in Lexington offers lessons in Tae Kwon Do for children and adults. The goal is to not only help the students master the art of Tae Kwon Do, but use what they learn to reduce stress, gain self-confidence and be more self-disciplined. They teach children ages 5-12 and offer adult courses for beginners and advanced levels.
