On June 20, a Locust Avenue resident thwarted a burglary attempt after seeing a man trying to break into a neighbor's house. The resident called police, then confronted and scared off the would-be intruder. 2. Two Lexington firefighters were taken to the hospital following a fire at an East Emerson Road home on July 12. The two firefighters were taken to the hospital and treated for heat exhaustion. 3.
