Previewing the BOS Agenda: The Board of Selectmen are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. tonight at the Town Office Building and its agenda includes an update from LexHAB on the Fairview Property, a bike parking and parklet proposal, a discussion of the fiscal 2014 budget and approval/signing of the warrant for annual Town Meeting and a special Town Meeting. 2. Take the Community Vision Survey: Lexington's 2020 Vision Committee has introduced a community survey seeking input to "identify the aspects of our town are of greatest interest and concern." 3. What’s Your 2020 Vision for Lexington?

A new survey from the town’s 2020 Vision Committee is designed to gather forward-looking information for guiding community decisions.

When you think about Lexington’s future, what do you see? A new survey from the town’s 2020 Vision Committee doesn’t ask that question specifically, put it does pose a series of questions about the town’s future in terms of things like economic development, education, the environment, town government, population diversity and physical characteristics. The survey, posted online earlier this week, is available on the town website and at www.surveymonkey.com/s/J3DVLZR. It will remain live online until Feb. 20.  A printed version of the survey questionnaire will also be made available at the Council on Aging offices, Cary Memorial Library and at the Clerk’s office in Town Hall. Five Things You Need to Know Today: May 13

Futuristic meetings, Friday the 13th, a guest editor and all that jazz.

1. Wake up with the Board of Selectmen. The regular Monday night crowd is meeting at 9 a.m. at the DPW building on Bedford Street to talk about the Lexington Center streetscape project. 2. Futuristic first thing. In the morning, that is. The 2020 Vision Committee is meeting from 7:45 to 9 a.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room and will discuss revalidating goals, a town survey and suggesting to the BOS any key areas of concern. 3. Let Diamond Middle School entertain you. A night of drama, improv and jazz kicks off at 7 p.m. tonight at the Hancock Street school. The Diamond Ensemble will present one-act play "This is a Test;" the Improv Troupe will perform several comedic improv games, and the Jazz Ensemble will play some cool jazz tunes. …
