Lexington Arts & Crafts Society is holding an Artisans’ Market in its Parsons Gallery until Aug. 20. More than 50 artists contributed to a show/sale that includes wood and metal works, beads, polymer and clay, needle art, photography and so much more. The show started on July 23 – and there are signs all over town to remind you to get to the Waltham Street society before it's over. Colonial Calm ...  I chatted with Matthew, a Lexington High School senior, who was sitting on a bench near the Battle Green waiting for tourists. Matthew, wearng rough hewn clothing and sporting a tricorn hat, said he shares the Lexington Battle Green story with all those who visit. Unfortunately, while I was there it was hot - and there weren't any takers. …

Photo Gallery: Art Sale Opens

The Lexington Arts and Crafts Society's seventh annual Artisan's Market and Summer Sale opened Saturday, July 23 and runs through August 20.

Though the moved the artisans market indoors to escape the sweltering summer heat, the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society's seventh annual summer sale got off to a hot start Saturday, July 23. The sale, which features work from 50 artists from at least seven of the Society's 10 guilds, was shut down for the day Sunday, but reoppened today, July 25 through August 20. Hours are 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
