Important talks, MCAS scores the scenes of the season and more this week in Lexington.
The week began looking backward, with recaps of Lexington High’s gridiron loss to Concord-Carlisle and the Symphony’s opening night, as well as a look at how past hurricanes have impacted the town. On Tuesday, the weekly Town Manager’s report told about storm reimbursements and the ongoing Citizens Academy, followed by reports on a spate of spray-paint vandalism, children’s chores and a conversation about radiation. First – the Chamber of Commerce’s Autumn Fine Art & Fair Festival, held on the Visitors Center lawn off Massachusetts Avenue has been changed to Sunday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bob at the Visitors’ Center said the call was made a little after 1 p.m. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mary Jo Bohart told us yesterday that weather predictions would be taken into account, so she's getting us a better day. 18th Annual Celebration
Lexington’s Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 18th Autumn Arts & Crafts Festival on Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is Sept. 25 during the same hours. Chamber Director Mary Jo Bohart said she’s looking at weather predictions and will let us know by tomorrow morning if it’s being held Saturday or Sunday. In turn, we’ll let you know. The festival is on the Visitors’ Center lawn at 1875 Massachusetts Avenue and admission is free. Mary Jo said we have at least three Lexington artisans. Look for a fiber artist, an artist who works with plant life and a jewelry maker. Everyone else is from the New England area, Mary Jo said. This year’s event features almost 100 artisans whose work includes: ceramics; jewelry; woodwork; …
