Five Things: Irving Berlin's Classics, Sam Adams Special Editions

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on Feb. 22 in Lexington.

Marching Along With Time – Songs by Irving Berlin: At 7:30 p.m. tonight at Follen Community Church, American Classics will present an evening of Irving Berlin's great songs from the Astaire/Rogers films, Holiday Inn, and Alexander's Ragtime Band; selections from This Is The Army and other songs from World War II. 2. Today in Public Meetings: Accoring to the town website, there are no public meetings posted for today. 3. Limited Release Beer Tasting: From 4 to 7 p.m. at Busa Wine and Spirits' Mass Ave location, they'll be tasting some limited edition Sam Adams brews, including the Albion Ale, Grumpy Monk, Third Voyage and Dark Depths. 4. 'Tis the Season to Party Outside

Lexington Police responded to reports of outdoor gatherings last weekend.

It’s that time of year again, when warmer weather compels people to move their celebrations outside. Last weekend in Lexington, police saw some of the first signs of outdoor drinking and partying among teens and those who are of age to imbibe. Around 9:30 p.m., Saturday, April 30, police responded to Hartwell Avenue and found a pair of Bedford teens with alcoholic beverages, marijuana and the remnants of a fire. The discovery came after the manager from Waxy O’Connors reported several vehicles parked in their lot and people in the wooded area across the street. Later that night, a loud house party was reported on Sylvia Street. And on Friday, April 29, police responded to reports of a large group of youths at Lincoln Field and a grill …
