Thirteen of Your Neighbors Will Walk the Marathon Route for the Jimmy Fund
The following announcement was provided on behalf of the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fun Walk.
On Sept. 9, 13 residents from Lexington will walk up to 26.2 miles along the historic route of the Boston Marathon in the 24th annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai. They will be among the 9,000 walkers expected to participate with the collective goal of raising more than $7.5 million to support lifesaving adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk is the largest single-day participatory event benefiting the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber and has raised nearly $80 million since its inception in 1989 to conquer all forms of cancer.
