Taking It Personally

Taking It Personally: Differences Between Men and Women

I hope you’re not too surprised I noticed

Many continue to deny it, but there are differences between men and women and they show up in what seem at first to be strange ways.  After reading that last sentence, readers are now split between “Duh” and “This guy is a total jerk.”  But hear me out … For instance, when I first got my netbook PC, I noticed that, many times, as I was using it in public a woman would walk up and start the conversation with “That looks cute” and then ask to try it. One morning, I was in the Lexington Public Office Building, by which I mean the Starbucks near Walgreen’s, and in less than 20 minutes three women came up, told me the netbook looked “cute” and tried it out. About Town: Good Deeds Are Noticed

About Town

Updated About Town: Lexington's Loss

Gail R. Wagner died recently. She was many things; the town's transportation coordinator among them.

Larry Link offered a touching tribute to Gail Wagner. It’s at the bottom of the column and worth reading. Here’s more from last night’s Board of Selectmen's meeting. Selectman Deb Mauger gave credit to Boy Scout Thomas Marge, a 14-year-old, who, for his Eagle Scout project, planned and built a boardwalk for the Big Backyard Program at the Maria Hastings Elementary School. Hastings has a narrow strip of land between the playfield and Route 128. The area is so popular with the students that it often gets muddy. If students walked above the ground they wouldn’t trample the trail or hurt the ecosystem. So, Thomas decided to build a walkway. Scout Master and selectmen Chairman Hank Manz said that although it only took a weekend to execute, the …
