The Lexington family injured in a serious accident earlier this month faces a lengthy road to recovery, but a helping hand from the community will go a long way.
It’s been nearly two weeks now since a Lexington family of four sustained serious injuries stemming from a Dec. 1 accident on I-95 in Walpole, and as the mother and son begin to bounce back, a toddler and father face still procedures still head. According to a family friend, both 5-year-old Ben and Jana, the mother, are recovering from their injuries and do not expect any further surgery. A fund is being set up at Cambridge Trust Company to help the Hersch family as they begin to recover from injuries sustained in an accident last Saturday, Dec. 1, on I-95 in Walpole.
A Lexington family of four sustained serious injuries in a terrible accident last weekend on I-95 in Walpole and, with their toddler facing a long road to recovery, the community is coming together to lend a hand. The Hersch family’s oldest son is enrolled at the Children’s Center of Lexington and the CCL community has pitched in to provide things like meals, shopping and play dates. But now that it appears that the family’s 15-month-old toddler will require pediatric rehabilitation he can’t get in Boston, a fund is being set up through Cambridge Trust Company to help cover escalating expenses, according to Sally Gordon, director of the Children’s Center of Lexington. As a coach, friend, father and husband, James Wong touched a lot of lives. In the days after tragic death in a Feb. 4 skiing accident, hundreds have taken to the web to honor Wong's memory and pledge to help his family.
Following the unexpected death of Lexington resident and Bank of America VP James Wong in a skiing accident last Saturday, friends and family members set up a website and fund to honor his memory and support his family.
