Five Things to To This Holiday Weekend: Dec. 23 to 25

A few ideas to fold into your holiday weekend.

We won't be going with the whole "It's Thursday and you've got no idea what' you'll do this weekend" thing today. This Saturday and Sunday, after all, are Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So, instead here a things you may be interested in incorporating into this holiday weekend. 1. Annual Christmas Eve Caroling Where/When: Hastings Park Bandstand, at the corner of Mass Ave and Worthen Road; 4 to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 24 Why Go: According to the town website, Christmas Eve Caroling is "a town tradition that is enjoyed by several hundred residents and neighbors each year who gather to sing an assortment of traditional and favorite carols." For the final song, children will be invited up onto the bandstand with the musicians to ring bells…

Six Places Open on Christmas in Lexington

Though many places up for the holiday, there are a few around town that will stay open.

Need to start Christmas morning with a cup of coffee, grab a meal or pick up a few essentials for the day? No worries -- not all of Lexington shuts down for the holiday. A few restaurants, at least one coffee shop and two local pharmacies/conveniences stores will be open Sunday, Dec. 25 to provide a meal, miscellaneous items or the caffine jolt you need to get over the river and through the woods -- or whatever else you've got planned for the day. Here's a few spots that will be open for business next Sunday. We're sure there are more, so if you know of one, please add it in the comment section below. 1. I so understand & agree w/Linda and Sheila about business being open just to make money. However, both of you need to think about what the men have stated. The next time you call 911, need to go to the ER or just reg. hospital. stop and think... THEY DON'T/CAN'T SHUT DOWN ON CHRISTMAS OUR NATIONAL HOLIDAY OR PEOPLE WILL DIE!!!
