Lax Game This Weekend Honors Morgan McDuffee Ten Years After Death

Men’s Division III college lacrosse game on March 3 to honor Morgan McDuffee, a Lexington High graduate and standout athlete who was killed in 2002 while breaking up a fight in Lewiston, Maine.

The following press release was provided by Leslie Wilcott-Henrie on behalf of Bates College Athletics. On March 3, 2012, Bates College and Skidmore College will play a lacrosse game dedicated to the life and memory of Morgan McDuffee, a 1997 graduate of Lexington High School where he was a standout athlete, captaining both the football and lacrosse teams. In 2002, McDuffee was a senior at Bates College, an accomplished student and co-captain of the lacrosse team, when he was killed breaking up a fight in Lewiston, Maine. To compound the tragedy for the Lexington community, several days later David Germaine, a close friend of Morgan's brother and a junior lacrosse player at LHS, was killed in a car accident returning from visiting the …

I worked with David's mom Barbara at Lexington High (Barbara has since re married and moved to the Ocala, FL area) and beause he would stop by often I knew him well. Morgan I also go to know and I enjoyed that wonderful young man so much----he was on of those very special people who even as a teenager seemed destined for success.
