Three-day trip to Rhode Island environmental center lets students study ecology, archaeology and geology.

Fifth-graders from the Harrington School in Lexington spent three days this week connecting with nature at W. Alton Jones Environmental Education Center. While there, the group studied wetland ecology, archaeology, geology and team-building. They also explored the forest at night and learned about the night sky, among other evening activities. During the school year, the University of Rhode Island’s W. Alton Jones campus hosts schools from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island for overnight or day trips. This summer, W.
