13 Things You Need to Know About Friday the 13th

You know to think twice about planning big events on Friday the 13th, but did you ever stop to wonder why?

1. The fear of Friday the 13th is known as friggatriskaidekaphobia or paraskevidekatriaphobia depending on whether you prefer Norse (the former) or Greek (the latter) origins for your phobias. About Town

Udated About Town: Braving the Graves

On Friday the 13th.

This weekend held far more than a ghostly walk through the burial ground. Sweet Beads held Ladies Night at its Mass. Ave. shop. Old and new friends gathered to pick and choose just the right stone, bead or clasp for earrings, necklaces and bracelets. It’s my hope that this store stays – and succeeds – for the young and the no-so-young. It's a great place for birthday parties, social gatherings and a hangout for creative minds looking to create beautiful baubles. Thank you Deborah, Ellen and Sabina. I had a great time and a friend is getting a wonderful birthday present. Operation Smile Children were having lots of fun at the Operation Smile fundraiser in Emery Park at The Depot last Saturday. I didn’t get to visit, but did snap a photo to …

Thank you for this great information. I'll pass it on to those holding these tours. I found the entire event fascinating -- especially that quotation. It was also sad to see parents losing so many children -- and to learn that it was expected. I'll go to that website for more info. Again, thank you.   more ›
