Week in Review: Dec. 4 to 10

A look back at the week that was in Lexington.

Holidays and criminal hijinks made headlines this week in Lexington, and in one case, a story even combined the two. Last Sunday was Luminary Night, in which residents set sidewalks and landmarks aglow with luminary kits purchased from the Historical Society and LexFUN!, who put the proceeds toward local scholarships and educational programs. That morning, however, dawned with continuing coverage of the previous evening's two-alarm housefire on Hancock Street, which displaced a family and saw mutual aid come from several area fire departments. The Board of Selectmen were supposed to meet on Monday night, but a posting snafu forced the board to bump its pubic meeting back to Wednesday, in order to comply with Open Meeting Law.
