Behind all the people, and the verdant summer trees, black raspberry bushes and Japanese knotweed, you can still see signs of where the trains ran, and might run again.

On sunny summer days, visitors to the Minuteman Bikeway have a hard time seeing the trains. As everyone who has glanced at the rear wall of the Lexington Depot knows, Lexington was once host to the Boston & Maine Railroad Lexington Branch line, which ran trains from West Cambridge through Lexington and on to Bedford and Concord. The last train ran through town in 1981, and the railroad right-of-way was fairly quiet until 1992, when the Minuteman Bikeway was built on the railbed. Somehow, the Bikeway's builders …

Harry Potter Premiere? Not Here

Lexington Venue won't have Deathly Hallows Part: 2.

Harry Potter fans will have to apparate out of Lexington to catch the premiere of "Deathly Hallows: Part 2," which opens at midnight in many U.S. theaters. Lexington Venue, the downtown theater, is an independent and primarily shows limited releases, so they don't expect to be hosting the Potter series' final installment -- at least not anytime soon, said Julia Miville, the theater's general manager. "If we would get it, it would be at the very end of the run," said Miville, who noted the Venue staff keeps a copy of a newspaper with movie times under the ticket and refreshment counters.
