Most retail stores and supermarkets will be open for the holiday.
Patriots' Day (also known at Marathon Monday) commemorates the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the start of the Revolutionary War. The holiday is observed today, April 15. It's a state holiday, but not a federal holiday. Here's a handy list of what's open and closed during the holiday (Lexington Public Schools are on spring vacation this week). Egg fights were once common inside of a church.
Today is Easter, a Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his crucifixion at Calvary as described in the New Testament. Over time, Easter has evolved into more than just a religious holiday, with kids getting excited to meet the Easter Bunny, and color eggs and eat chocolate. Below are some facts and figures you may not have known about this holiday. Happy Easter!
Crying, laughing, it doesn't matter—we want to see your kids and pets with Mr. Bunny.
Did you hunt for the Easter Bunny or his eggs? Did you hit the malll? Or maybe Hebert's Candy Mansion? Petco, for those with furkids? Did you attend a local egg hunt? Show us! You stand in line and spend time worrying that the perfect Easter outfit will still look nice by the time your child hops on to Mr. Bunny's lap, so show them off on Patch. Remember to hit the "Upload Photos" button and tell us in the caption names of those in the pictures, hometown and where the event was! Hoppy Easter!

The food is always good, but an important part is family, with just about everything else revolving around that important element of our lives. But now, just a very short month later, we are all enveloped in what has come to be called “The Holidays.” Sure—this, too, is about family and all the rest of it, but in a different way. This is about more global issues…

My brother-in-law is a very good cook, but there is so much more than that to this holiday. It comes at a great time of year. For students, the end of the semester is still far enough away that real worry has not set in. The fall is almost never completely over and winter has usually not fully arrived. There is still some green grass around and some trees still have at least a few leaves. The leaves on the ground, which you really need to rake, are still a thing of …
