Stein Secures Green Party Presidential Nom

With her win in the California primary last week, Lexington resident Jill Stein locked up enough "delegates" to win the Green Party's presidential nomination.

Jill Stein, the Lexington resident and Green Party presidential hopeful, has clinched her party’s nomination.  Her win last week in the California primary brought Stein’s delegate tally to 194, more than the 182 necessary to win the nomination, according to reports. Stein has won 66 percent of all delegates allocated, triple that of her nearest competitor, Roseanne Barr. (Yes, that Roseanne Barr.) "Voters will not be forced to choose between two servants of Wall Street in the upcoming election,” said Stein in a statement posted on her website. “Now we know there will be a third candidate on the ballot who is a genuine champion of working people." A physician and familiar fringe candidate in her home state, Stein’s presidential platform is …

Lexington's Stein Still Aligning with OWS Along Campaign Trail

Jill Stein, who is seeking the Green Party's nomination for president, spoke at Occupy Delaware yesterday and is joining "Occupy the Courts" today in Washington, D.C.

Looks like Jill Stein, the Green Party presidential hopeful from Lexington, is continuing to align her Green New Deal Platform with the Occupy movement as she stumps at OWS outposts along the campaign trail. While in Delaware yesterday, Jan. 19, Stein, stopped by Wilmington’s Spencer Plaza, and spoke with Occupy Delaware protesters, according to the News Journal of Delaware. “Stein said protesters with the Occupy Wall Street movement reflect the same dissatisfaction with President Barak Obama as members of the Green Party, which she called the nation's only viable progressive third party,” says a story and video posted to Delaware Online. If that sounds familiar, it’s because Stein has been working the OWS link since her announcement …

Citing Synergy with OWS, Jill Stein Makes Noise on The Hill

Since kicking off her campaign on Oct. 24, Lexington resident and Green Party presidential hopeful Jill Stein has aligned herself with the Occupy Wall Street movement. A month later, it's getting her noticed in Washington.

Looks like Washington has been listening to Jill Stein, the Lexington resident and Green Party presidential hopeful. In a Nov. 28 feature, Kris Kitto of The Hill wondered whether Stein is the country’s first Occupy Wall Street candidate. While Stein declines the label, saying Occupiers will pick their own candidate, she does note a “synergistic” chemistry between the Occupy movement and her Green New Deal platform. “We are not looking to hijack them or force them to be electoral or force them in any way to shift from what they’re doing,” Stein told The Hill, which describes itself as a "must read" print and online newspaper for and about Congress. “I think the chemistry between the two entities is rich and synergistic, and we’ll see where …

What we have here... is Harold Stassen in heels. Hard to see how the Green Party could stake out a position much 'greener' than Obama and the Democrats- Suppressing offshore oil exploration and production. Delaying a crude oil pipeline from Canada. Scuttling the nuclear waste depository in Nevada. Faint praise for new nuclear plants. Pressuring coal power plants to close. Exploring carbon trading…   more ›

Stein Slams 'Assaults on Occupy Movements'

In a statement released earlier this week, Lexington resident and Presidential hopeful Jill Stein condemns police actions at Occupy encampments as "suppressing rights of free speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of the press."

The recent rash of violent, viral videos from Occupy Wall Street protests has cauth the ire of Presidential candidate and Lexington resident  Jill Stein, who on Wednesday released a statement condemning recent police actions against the OWS movement.  "The aggressive, needless police actions across the country against Occupy Wall Street (OWS) are an assault on civil liberties and an effort to suppress a much needed movement for economic justice and democracy," said Stein, a Green Party member and past candidate in Massachusetts elections. "The courageous protesters who have stood up to intimidation by lethal force are standing up for us all." In the statement, Stein called upon mayors in occupied cities to "follow the example of Green …
