PHOTOS: Martial Arts Studio Opens in Winchester

Elite Freestyle Karate held their grand opening on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 750 Main St. in Winchester. And a couple of Lexington kids squared off in a demo.

Dozens attended the grand opening of a new martial arts studio Saturday morning in Winchester. Elite Freestyle Karate, which has two other locations in Reading and Wilmington, held the grand opening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 12 on the second floor at 750 Main St. in Winchester. Sports Week in Review, April 9 - April 15

Several Lexington residents prepare for the Boston Marathon, as the spring high school sports season kicks into high gear.

When it comes to Patriots' Day, it’s hard not to think of Lexington’s place in American history and how the town helped shape the nation. However, for dozens of Lexington residents, their attention this holiday will be focused solely on the 26.2 miles that separate Hopkinton and downtown Boston. This week, Patch caught up with two Lexington residents who will participate in the running of the 115th Boston Marathon on Patriot’s Day. On Wednesday, we talked to Pascal Marmier, a native of Switzerland who relocated to the United States 12 years ago.
