Lexington's 300th: Rolling the Musket Ball Back 'Til Next Spring

The following information was provided by the Lexington 300th Committee.

The 300 Anniversary Celebration Committee announces that the Musket Ball, scheduled for Nov. 17, is being rescheduled to next spring. It recently became apparent that the ticket sale goal would not be reached in time and feedback from the public has indicated that numerous residents who would like to attend are unable to for two primary reasons: The proximity of the date to Thanksgiving and the recent disruption to the lives of friends and families due to the hurricane last week. A number of people have expressed the desire to be with those in affected areas or to donate discretionary income to relief efforts at this time. Lexington's 300th: Breeches, Bloomers and Bell Bottoms Oh My

Tickets are still available for this weekend's funky, fundraising fashion show through time.

The following was provided by the Lexington 300th Committee. Held on Oct. 27, at Lexington High, this fundraiser will keep you entertained, to say the least. Reasons to be there: Three selectmen, the chairman of the Town Meeting Members Association and Town Moderator are transported to the 1920s, 20-plus LPS teachers to the 1970s, the Boston Massacre, George & Mary Burnell in tennis whites, a barbershop quartet, talented LHS actors and a list of who's-who at Town Hall in the 1960s.  It's funny--a great cast, tons of cameos, singing and dancing, 300 years of fashion--and it’s a terrific way to help fund the 300th Anniversary Celebrations. Tickets range from $10 to $30 and can be purchased at the Town Clerk's Office or at the door, the night…

Lexington's 300th: A Few Photos from the Country Fair

A Country Fair featuring local businesses and organizations was a big part of the Sept. 22 kick-off for Lexington's 300th birthday celebration.

After the opening ceremonies and all-town photograph, but before the Dance Revolution 300, the Country Fair owned the afternoon on Saturday, Sept. 22.  With local businesses and organizations setting up booths at Hastings Park, there was pretty much something for everyone at the Country Fair. Hand-painted pumpkins with local sports logos? Check. Pillows stitched together from silken ties? Check. Blue-ribbon contests? Check Burgers? Check. Chinese checkers? Check. Yea, you get the idea. Click through the photos above for a "virtual tour" of the Country Fair to celebrate Lexington's 300th.

VIDEO: Hear the Whole Town Sing 'Happy Birthday'

As part of the opening day festivities for Lexington's 300th birthday bash, the folks gathered for the all-town photograph sang 'Happy Birthday.'

Lexington's 300th celebration kicked off Saturday, Sept. 22, and as part of the opening day festivities, a crowd gathered to take an all-town photograph and sing happy birthday to their hometown.

'We Are Lexington'

Some scenes from Lexington's 300th anniversary celebration's opening day on Saturday, Sept. 22.

From the opening ceremonies to the procession through town to the Afterburner performance to the all-town photograph and on to the Country Fair, Race Through Time and Chamber of Commerce's 19th annual Autumn Fine Arts and Crafts Festival, there was a lot to see and do during the opening day of what will be a nine-month celebration of Lexington's 300th anniversary year.  Click through the photos above for a sampling of some scenes from the opening day festivities, and be sure to check back over the next few days for more signs and sounds from the opening ceremonies.
